Holiday Happenings

Can you believe it’s December already? Time for being cozy and knitting or crocheting all our favorite woolies! We have some fun events planned for the next week that we wanted to remind you of. Our Customer Appreciation day is Friday December 8th. We will have 4 stations throughout the shop for you to make and take, or grab a kit or two to go! There are stations for knit, crochet, weaving and fiber, so bring a friend and come on by! Our annual Anniversary yarn tastings have a couple of spots left for the Saturday evening session, from 6-8 pm. Check out our Classes and Events page or come by the shop to sign up. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Our Holiday Hours: CLOSED December 25th and 26th and January 1st. We will also be closing at 4:00 pm on December 28th so there will be no knit/crochet/spin group that evening.

EXCITING NEWS! We are launching the Studio Q Sock Society on December 5th. Our theme for 2024 is Pacific Northwest. You will be able to sign up on our website or in the shop. The Studio Q Sock Society is a subscription based sock yarn club. On the 5th of every month, you will receive a hand dyed sock weight or dk weight skein of yarn, your choice at checkout. Studio Q is the exclusive yarn line for Quintessential Knits. The yearly 2024 Sock Subscription includes 1 - 75/25 Superwash Merino/nylon 4 ply sock yarn 463 yds/100g skein Or a skein of DK weight 72/25 Superwash merino/nylon 4 ply yarn with 245yds/100g skein. The subscription is for three months and can be renewed for another three month period. In January, you are invited to join us in a knit along (KAL) for the Home Cardigan by Caidree. The Home Cardigan is a drop shoulder, v-neck cardigan which is knit flat in stockinette. There are two versions of the pattern - either chunky yarn (15 stitches per 4") or DK (19 stitches per 4"). The KAL will include 4 two hour long sessions at which we will help you with the pattern and any new skills you may need to complete the project. These may include: how to read a pattern, how to make modifications to suit your body (e.g. armhole depth, sleeve length), how to knit short rows, how to pick up stitches for a button band and sleeve, how to make button holes and how to do a tubular bind off. In order to participate you must know how to knit and purl and to increase and decrease. There is a fee of $20, which includes your choice of pattern Home Cardigan (the chunky version) or Home Cardigan Lite (DK)) and tuition during the KAL sessions. In order to participate you must purchase your yarn for the project at Quintessential Knits.

The group sessions for the KAL will be on Wednesdays (Jan 10, 17, 24 and 31) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
