Settling into Fall

September is upon us and with it our knitting, crochet and other fibery things are calling. Although many of us don’t put down our craft in the summer, the chilly evenings beckon for a lap full of yarn and that next sweater or shawl in the making.

This fall we have something extra special planned. We are having our first ever Fiber Retreat! The Gathering will happen on October 5th from 10am - 4pm at Lavender at Stillwater (previously known as Misty Valley Farm). There will be two Knit Along's, a Learn Support Spindle class, a Spinning Forum, a weaving session and a Learn to Embroider on Knitting, class. There will be lots of free time for knitting, crocheting and spinning throughout the day. We are also launching a new line of Studio Q yarn! The Jack & Henry Collection is a 50/50 Merino Cotton in a light worsted weight. Can't wait for you to see our 20+ colors! Lunch and snacks will be provided, please let us know if you have any restrictions. Of course, in true Quintessential Knits fashion we will have prize drawings throughout the day. We hope you will join us as we kick off this 1st annual event!

The Gathering Details:

Knit Along with Maddy for the Stephen West Mystery Shawl - Come by the shop before the event and pick up your yarn to be ready for the cast on party at The Gathering. (Yarn not included in the price of the event)

Knit Along with Judy for the Lavender at Stillwater Colorwork Hat - The yarn for this will be our new Jack & Henry Line which can be purchased at The Gathering (yarn not included in the price of event)

Learn Support Spindle with Allen Berry - Our friend and amazing woodcarver Allen Berry will be teaching this class. We have his beautiful spindles for sale or bring your own.

Learn to Embroider on your Knitting, with Megan - This class taught by Megan Kint will be included in the price of the ticket. We will have kits available at The Gathering.

Spinning Forum with Barbara Seeler - Bring your wheel or spindle and spin with Barbara as she answers questions about all thing's fiber! This forum is included in the price of The Gathering.

Rigid Heddle Weaving Interactive Session with Debbie - This is a casual setting to try your hand at weaving. We will have looms set up for you to try. This session is included in the price of The Gathering.

Lunch is included in the price of the retreat.

These classes/Sessions will be at various times throughout the day so you can do all or most of them if you choose. When you purchase your ticket we would like to know which ones you are interested in so we can get a head count and have enough materials on hand.
